
Hi everyone on Go Makao! Today I want to suggest you a low cost travel to Naples!
Let's see the details of the voyage!
Departure from London Stansted on the 4th of October. You will fly with the low cost airline Easyjet and you will decollate about 4:35 pm. You will touch down at Capodichino airport.
You will come back on the 11th of October. Departure is at 8:55 pm and you will fly with Easyjet again.
The price of the ticket is 67.98€!!!
When you arrive in Naples, you can take a bus at the exit of the airport and you will stop at Piazza Municipio, in the heart of the city. For reaching Piazza Municipio you can take autobus 3S or Alibus. Buses depart every 20 minutes.
Naples is the capital of Campania and is the most important city of the whole italian south.
Although it is a city with many problems, like unemployment, clandestinity, delinquency, racket and garbage emergency, it is a spectacular city with one of the best landscapes of the world, thanks to Vesuvius and the magnific bay of Naples.
Neaples is also a city abounded in history and traditions how it's demonstrated by museums, churchs, monuments an theatres. Naples is the city where born great artists like Totò, Edoardo de Filippo and Massimo Troisi, who have signed not only neapolitan but also italian theatre and cinema.
The most important theatre in Naples, San Carlo theatre, was built for king Charles' birthday in 1737 and actually is one of the most largest operas in Italy.
It was bombed in 1943 and it has been rebuilt several times. San Carlo theatre is located at the very centre of the city, near Piazza Trieste e Trento and Piazza Plebiscito, that is the principal square of the city and one of the most spectacular one of the world. Here you will find:
- the royal palace, the residence of the Bourbon kings of Naples.
- San Francesco di Paola church, the church that began to be built in th 19th century, when the king Joachim Murat (Napoleon's brother in law) planned the square and the large building with colonnas, as a tribute to Napoleone.
-the fantastic view on Neaples harbour, that will enchant you!
Opposite San Carlo Theatre there is one of the four entry of Galleria Umberto, a great glass-roofed arcade inaugureted in 1890 with the name of Umberto I, who was the king of Italy between 1878 and 1900, when he was killed by the hands of an assassin.
The Gallery was built to stimulate commerce and to be a symbol of a city reborn.
At present, the most important shopping streets are: Via Roma and Via Chiaia, when you will find shops of famous italian brands. If you want to buy something cheaper, yuo can go to Corso Umberto (named Rettifilo), that is a shopping area with many cheap stores.
If you go to Corso Umberto, you have to stop at Trianon Pizzeria, in Via Colletta Pietro, a famous pizzeria born in 1923, where you can eat the very neapolitan pizza!
During your stay in Naples, you also must taste mozzarella and coffe, the specialities of the city.
When you will come back in London, if you will miss the delicious neapolitan mozzarella, don't worry! You will be able to buy it online through Flyingmozzarella, the online service that permit you to eat mozzarella 48 hours since your ordination!
Another place to visit is Spaccanapoli, the old area of Naples and the most caracteristic one, with all its back-street, where you can catch the genuine spirit of the city! Here there is also Napoli sotterranea: you must visit it! You will be able to discover many interesting things...In this area there is also the district of San Gregorio Armeno, where neapolitan craftsmen make creches during all the year.
If you want to visit a museum, don't miss the Museo di Capodimonte, where many times during the year important exhibitions are organized! Here there is also a great forest, when you can relax and enjoy yourself!
If you want to see a wonderful landscape, with sea and Vesuvius, you have to go to Mergellina and Posillipo, along the bay of Naples. You can reach Mergellina with the second line of metro.
Here, there are many restaurants and pizzeria where you can eat with a spectacular view on the sea!
In order to move into the the city, you can take autobuses, metro, tram, and also Circumvesuviana for reaching the famous Pompei and Ercolano.
The principal station is in Piazza Garibaldi, that it's not a very beautiful area, especially at night. From Piazza Garibaldi station, you can take both metro and circumvesuviana. For information about metro you can visit the official web site MetroNapoli

Don't forget the Museum of Antiquities, which is where most of the artifacts excavated from Pompeii reside.
Of course...There are many other attractions that I don't have mentioned now, but I will please to write about them in the next articles...
